On July 4th, we once again celebrated the service of our police officers and veterans at our 5th annual Hot Dogs for Heroes. All of us at Perkins Studdard are very thankful for their service and honored to have the opportunity to recognize them each year. We would like to also thank all the volunteers and guests who helped make this years Hot Dogs for Heroes successful.
The weather was great this year, and we served up 500 hot dogs with chips and drinks. Local musician Jerry Rogers once again entertained the crowd with great music. We also had a play area for the kids with inflatable slides and a moonwalk and lots of contests, including a hot dog eating and a watermelon eating contest.
As always, everything at Hot Dogs for Heroes was free for anyone who wanted to attend, but we did take up donations for the Carrollton Fraternal Order of Police and Explorer Post 911. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees and a matching gift from Perkins Studdard, we were able to raise over $1000. We know this money will be put to good use. We look forward to next year’s Hot Dogs for Heroes and hope that you will be able to join us in 2015.
