According to an article published by Rick May at airforcetimes.com, An independent study by the National Center for Policy Analysis released in December reported that almost one-third of VA claims are denied and that over half of those denials are made in error. The Veterans Affairs Department has stated that it disagrees with this study.
If the results of this study are correct, it is especially concerning given that the VA reports that only ten percent of veterans who received denials filed a notice of disagreement this past year. If the decisions are erroneous and few veterans are contesting the decisions, then many veterans are not receiving benefits to which they are entitled for their service to our county.
